Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney
Stephen M. Sweeney represents the Third Legislative District of New Jersey. The Third District includes all of Salem County and portions of Gloucester and Cumberland Counties. He was elected to the New Jersey State Senate in 2001 and was re-elected to a third term in 2007.
On January 12th, 2010, Senator Sweeney was unanimously confirmed and sworn in as President of the New Jersey Senate, the highest-ranking position in the state’s legislature.

John J. Burzichelli, a lifelong resident of New Jersey, grew up in Paulsboro, Gloucester County, where he currently resides. Mr. Burzichelli served as Mayor of Paulsboro from 1996 to 2011 and began his legislative career in January of 2002, serving as State Assemblyman.
