Bridgeton Satellite Office for 3rd Legislative District Announced

Press of Atlantic City – State Senate President Steve Sweeney, Assembly Deputy Speaker John Burzichelli and Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro announced a satellite office date for the 3rd Legislative District at the Bridgeton Public Library.

Residents can visit on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., a statement from the legislators said. The satellite office will continue at the library on the first Tuesday of each month.

The 3rd Legislative District includes all of SalemCounty and parts of Gloucester and Cumberland counties.

“Our satellite offices are a chance to provide greater accessibility to our residents in the convenience of their neighborhood and surrounding area,” said Sweeney.

The satellite office is hosted by staff representatives who are available to assist residents with issues such as unemployment claim difficulties, energy assistance programs, professional licensing matters, consumer complaints or any matter with a state agency, the statement said.

Constituent Corner – Property Tax Reimbursement Program Deadline

The Property Tax Reimbursement Program (PTR), also known as the “Senior Freeze,” is administered by the New Jersey Division of Taxation. The deadline for filing a 2016 PTR Program application has been extended to October 18, 2017.
The Property Tax Reimbursement Program reimburses qualified New Jersey residents who are disabled or senior citizens for property tax increases on their homes. Residents applying for the program must be 65 years of age or older as of December 31, 2015, or if under 65 years old, were receiving Federal Social Security Disability benefits on or before December 31, 2015 and on or before December 31, 2016.
